Plant Metallurgist – South Carolina

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Metallurgist to support our busy 24/7 manufacturing plant. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example to maintain a safe and organized workplace.
- Ensure environmental compliance and conduct regular safety talks and audits.
- Coordinate melt department operations with Melt Supervisors.
- Serve as the primary liaison for Maintenance/Engineering for repairs and projects.
- Assist Melt Supervisors with raw materials inventory, chemistry control, and melt process as needed.
- Maintain the melt webpage for 24-hour plant operations.
- Write, review, and update procedures and forms in the ISO 9000 QC system.
- Participate in quality processes, including resolution of CARS.
- Assist in melt X-trials, collect experimental data, and compile results.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Continuously monitor and revise ISO documents.
- Collaborate with crew leaders to achieve production and quality objectives.
- Work with engineers/metallurgists on trials and improvements.

- Strong communication skills with all plant personnel.
- Excellent written, oral, and listening skills.

- Self-starter with problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Strong computer skills, especially in MS Office.
- Ability to follow through with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work on the plant floor at least 60% of the time.
- Proficiency in creating and presenting PowerPoint presentations.
- Capability to perform physical work as needed.
Experience/Education Required:
- BS degree in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science.
- Advanced skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- At least 5 years of related manufacturing experience.
- Metallurgist background.
- Experience working closely with R&D, Quality, Procurement, and other departments.
